Short Biography
I’m an artist, art critic, manager, lecturer | speaker, professor and consultan
I was born in 1959 in San Juan de Puerto Rico, at the Santurce Hospital (today the Puerto Rico Art Museum). My passion has been painting, I had the opportunity to have as teachers and mentors Fran Cervoni Brenes, Alfonso Arana, Luis Germán Cajiga, Gianpiero Rosati and Carlos Marcial among others. The works of art that have conquered me are those of Georgio de Chirico, Salvador Dalí, Vassily Kandinsky, Noemí Ruiz, Alfonso Arana, Wifredo Lam, Kazimir Malevick, Alexander Rodchenko and Alexander Calder. I have a multidisciplinary education and career.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude in painting, Bachelor (BFA) from the School of Plastic Arts and Design of Puerto Rico; Master in Contemporary Art (MA) from the University of Barcelona. Another bachelor in Finance and Economics (BS) from Southern of New Hampshire University; Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Phoenix University. And a Naturopathy Doctorate (ND). Several Certifications among them in Diplomacy and International Relations from the Center for Advanced Studies of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean; Appraisal of Art of the Higher Institute of Art of Madrid. |
I begin in art since the late 70's. With more than 90 exhibitions, several recognitions and favorable art critics of my art works.
With the timeless and Triformist style that I have discovered and developed, I intend to provoke dialogue, joy, introspection, motivation, and emotions in the beings who contemplate my work and who can develop their own history in time and space. I have published art criticism and research in different media and I have been the president of several organizations. "In a democratic act, the creative artist decides the form in which he feels most comfortable and supported to narrate his proposal. All media are valid, as well as all languages and all music. The sincerity, the proposal, the craft, the commitment of the creative artist is what makes the difference. The activity of art should not be boxed into a monolithic practice, much less claim superiority of one style over another, one movement over another. At the end of the day, everything changes, the only constant thing is change, so that what is current today will no longer be current tomorrow." |
